About Youth Volleyball
Volleyball is one of the most welcoming and accessible youth sports, and those who discover it often stay with the sport for a lifetime. The volleyball community is strong; it’s made of families who love to play and learn together, leading to strong, lasting friendships. As a collaborative team sport, volleyball teaches players character-building skills such as leadership, teamwork, respect and healthy communication.
Season & Suggested Tryout Dates
Volleyball is a fall sport. If you want to bring Youth Volleyball to your St. Louis City school, we suggest hosting tryouts during the week of August 29th.

Upcoming Games – 2022
Practice & Game Expectations:
- Most schools practice 2-3 times per week.
- Regular season games will occur on: Sept. 14th, Sept. 21th, Sept. 28th, Oct. 5th, Oct. 12th, Oct. 19th, Oct. 26th, Nov. 2nd.

Rules of Play
Regulation & Scoring
Net height will be 7 feet, 4 ⅛ inches tall. Regulation balls will be used. Each team shall be allowed two time-outs per game.
A team must win 2 out of three games to win the overall contest. The first two games are played to 25 points.The third game is played to 15 points. If time allows, by mutual consent, teams may play the third game of a match even if the same team has won the first two games. Any player who has not played in the first two games must be allowed to participate in the entire third game.
Rally scoring will be used: no matter who served, the point can be earned by either the serving or receiving team. The let serve shall be allowed: the served ball hits the top of the net but still goes over to the receiving team.
